Do you have a website that includes links to Word Documents or PDFs? Make sure you are getting the most out of your documents by following these steps:
- Make sure your PDF includes mostly formatable text
- no text saved as an image
- don’t scan a document as an image and save it as a PDF
- Optimize the text in the PDF just as if you were optimizing a web page
- include important keywords and phrases
- Include keywords in the document’s title. In Acrobat you can usually modify the Document’s title by choosing “File” in the toolbar, then choosing “Properties”, and modify’s the “Title” on the Description Tab.
- Link to the PDF within your webpage and include the Document’s Title in the link.
- Make sure the PDF includes an active link to your email address and to your website.
